What You Need To Know About Corner Windows
The time just keeps slipping away, doesn’t it? We had another swim meet last weekend, my hubby is going fishing this weekend, and next week it’s Thanksgiving already!
Are you ready for Thanksgiving? I’m as ready as I’ll ever be…meaning to say, I’m not ready, and won’t be, so we’re working with what we have and hosting an anti-Thanksgiving meal.
Now that doesn’t mean I’m not thankful – far from it! I have so many things and people to be thankful for this year. But as far as Thanksgiving meal traditions, we are doing what’s easy rather than what we usually do. We’re still hosting for the family, but we’re short on space since the business is still occupying the lower floor of our home.
So, lasagna, salad, bread, and plenty of good wine are on the menu this year! Who knows…maybe we’ll love it so much it will be the new tradition. 🍷

Nobody puts Vita in a corner! Unless that corner has a set of corner windows that need to be covered – then you better believe I’m in that corner.
I’m also in your corner – here to support you when you have a challenging window treatment project. Today, I’m going to share some inspiring ways to dress the corner windows in your design projects.
Option #1: Continuous Ripplefold Panels
This project was for the fantastic Gacek Design Group, who we have had the pleasure of working with for quite a while now. We often do the window treatments for their model homes. Here, we dressed the corner windows in a sales office for Judd Builders.
Here the designer wanted a continuous wall of ripplefold drapery to cover the windows. We were fortunate to be able to provide clearance dimensions to accommodate the drapery panels and hardware prior to construction, so we were able to install the hardware in the pocket to create this seamless wall of sheer drapery panels.
There are two panels, even though it appears to be one, and hiding the hardware was easy thanks to the pocket.
Pro-Tip: Remember that the width of the pocket needs to accommodate more than just the hardware. The width needed for installation will be the window molding + clearance for the s-curve of the hardware + breathing room for the drapery.
Option #2: Functional Panels on Two Rods
This project for the fabulous Michele Plachter Design was installed in a high rise in University City in Philadelphia. The goal was to preserve that gorgeous view of the city during the day and enjoy privacy at night.
Here we have three function panels mounted on two rods. The panels on either end can be moved to the middle of the windows with a baton, and the shared middle panel, mounted on both rods, also slides to the middle on each window. The inset of the window allowed us to install these traverse rods to the ceiling in the window opening, providing a clean, contemporary look.
Pro-Tip: We recommend a pinch pleat for draperies installed on multiple rods like this. Ripplefold drapery panels aren’t ideal for a shard rod situation, as it can cause interruptions to the ripplefold pattern.
Option #3: Roman Shades & Drapery Panels
And for our final example of ways to dress your corner windows, we’re sharing a project from Henck Design. Christina Henck has said that this is one of her favorite projects, and we can see why! It was a pleasure to install these roman shades and drapery panels.
As you can see, the deisner preferred to only utilize drapery panels on the windows on the wall with the fireplace, leaving the windows on the adjacent walls covered with a simple roman shade. We think the clean lines of the white roman shades look beautiful paired with the drapery panels in that stunning ikat fabric.
