3 Tips For Using Acrylic Drapery Hardware

Acrylic hardware is beautiful, modern, and an elegant way to hang your drapery panels. But is it the right choice for your project?

Welcome to the beautiful and complicated world of drapery hardware. Today, I want to share with you some insights to acrylic hardware.

Hardware is like jewelry for your windows. And like the perfect jewelry can complete an outfit, so can the right hardware complete your window treatments.

Acrylic hardware is modern, sleek, and popular. But, there are some things you should know...

Modern & Contemporary Design

Acrylic hardware is perfect for modern and contemporary spaces. Like this incredible space from the talented Michele Plachter Design.

Modern furniture, that attention-grabbing artwork, and the stripes on the drapery panels are complemented by the clean lines of the Brimar acrylic hardware.

Not all acrylic hardware is created equal. Our preferred vendors are Brimar and United Supply. They stand behind their product quality, and they are trusted trade resources.

Good: Unique Fine Fabrics

Better: JAB or United Supply

Best: Brimar

Acrylic Hardware Gives You Lots of Options

You have many options when choosing the components of your acrylic hardware. Both round and cube rods are very popular, and some vendors even offer a unique rectangle rod.

You can also choose from a variety of finishes for the brackets and rings, including metals, or for a completely crystal clear look, acrylic rings and brackets.

Acrylic hardware is a great way to elevate the look of your window treatments. Not only is it a unique look because it is available in different shapes, but it can also take the design to the next level. It's perfect for more updated and high-end applications.

Perfect for Bold Fabrics

Design by the talented Kelly Ruggeri Designs

This bold Thibaut fabric features a big, beautiful pattern and bright colors. It looks fabulous with the texture of the wallpaper. Fabric like this needs drapery hardware that will let it take center stage and shine.

This acrylic pole has an acrylic finial, with polished nickel accents that match the rings. The understated beauty of this hardware doesn't detract from the bold fabric.

Acrylic cannot support as much weight as a wood or metal pole. You must keep this in mind when specifying your acrylic hardware, so you order enough brackets. For any wide expanse (like the project featured above) or if your drapery panels are particularly heavy, you will need a center supporting bracket to prevent unsightly bowing and bending.
